Moscow is concerned with Finland’s decision to deport Russian Irina Antonova, who is old and disabled, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Andrey Nesterenko told journalists on Thursday. He said the Helsinki authorities plan to deport Antonova June 16.
Irina Antonova’s daughter, who married a Fin, took her wheelchair-bound mother to Helsinki two years ago through a guest visa. She has nobody to look after her in Russia. Doctors say Irina may not survive the flight. Nesterenko hopes the situation will be settled peacefully.
