KIEV, May 28 (Itar-Tass) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich said on Friday that European integration remains among priority directions in the country’s foreign policy.
With that in view, the president has instructed the government and the Foreign Ministry to finish by October 15, when a Ukraine-EU summit will be held, work to bring Ukrainian legislation in line with European and pave the way for the signing of the Association Agreement and an agreement on visa-free travels between Ukraine and the EU.
“Before October 15, we must practically finish work on all these directions, and during the summit we must in essence get specific answers,” Yanukovich told a session of the European integration committee. The president said that the signing of the Association Agreement was significant, and stressed that preparations for that “have entered the final stage”.
